I walked into a temple site in Pai, northern Thailand and heard a buzzing. When I spotted this hive, it really scared me because this statue of Buddha is about my size. The hive was huge. I wanted to ask the monks about it but a lot of them won't talk to women so I kept my distance from the hive and took a million photos.

Anuradapura is the first capital of Sri Lanka and dotted with ancient temples and Sri Bodhi, said to be the oldest tree in the world. There are tons of monkeys everywhere too.

A conveyer belt carries the coal out of the underground mine and deposits it in a silo. A coal train pulls up under the silo, which dumps tons of coal into each car in the train.

I was in Yala National Park in Southern Sri Lanka on New Year's Day 2012 during peacock mating season. This was taken during sunrise.
