FOREST IMPRESSIONS 3: Winter Light

While jogging along Clear Creek Trail in Silverdale, on Washington State's Kitsap Peninsula, I carried a camera and frequently stopped to photograph trees and shrubs along the trail. Except that these were not ordinary photographs. Instead of trying to hold the camera still, I moved the camera during each exposure to give an impressionistic feel to the photographs. This image was among my favorites from that day; I captured it right at the end of the day when the low winter light illuminated the alders magnificently against a clear blue sky.
