Medicine Lake, Jasper National Park
Medicine Lake in Canada's Jasper National Park does a disappearing act each summer. It fills with glacial and snow meltwaters each spring, then gradually drains out through porous rock in the bottom of the lake. When I photographed this scene in autumn, most of the water was gone, leaving only the graceful patterns of the exposed lake bottom and the remnant water channels. This is actually a color photograph of what is essentially a black and white scene.
Edition of 250, which includes all sizes and methods of printing.
