Rainbow Hills

According to Wikipedia, "The Carrizo Plain is a large enclosed plain, approximately 50 miles (80 km) long and up to 15 miles (24 km) across, in southeastern San Luis Obispo County, California, about 100 miles (160 km) northwest of Los Angeles, California." We were there April 2011 for wild flower pictures. In addition to the impressive flower fields (even though it had passed the peak blooming period already), we also enjoyed the lovely hills surrounding the plain.

This picture was taken with Nikon 70-300mm VR lens. Because of haze and heat, it appears rather soft. However, the painting like effect matches the mood. I also enhanced the colors for the theme.
