WATER COLOR 33: Lake Superior Shore
Michigan's Upper Peninsula is bordered on the North by Lake Superior, a vast body of water noted for its depth and wild beauty. I photographed this area of rocky shallows from the cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, which tower colorfully above the lake. I was struck by the clarity of the cold waters, and the contrast of the aqua water color and the browns of the sandstone. I like the composition, which shows the way the rocks gather together in the currents generated by the wave action.
